On Friday 12th September all the students going on the tour came to Oberthur PS for an orientation day run by Mrs Zhang who is the LOTE teacher at both schools. We had very informative and helpful sessions about the upcoming trip and also enjoyed a delicious lunch at the local Chinese Restaurant. Above is the article that appeared in the Melville Times last week.
On September 29th 2008 11 students and 5 teachers from Oberthur and Bateman Primary Schools will be heading to Beijing for a two week cultural study tour. We leave Perth on Monday afternoon and arrive in Beijing on Tuesday morning after a lengthy stopover in Singapore.
In Beijing we will be staying at Huijia Private School and the students will have two short stays with families from the school. We will have many opportunities to experience Chinese culture through these homestay visits and the sightseeing opportunities that we will have.
We will visit include the Capital Museum, the Olympic Sites, the Great Wall of China, the Summer Palace and many others interesting places.
We hope to be able to post photos and information about our activities as we go along. Keep a look out for future posts.
